Epilogue VCF

from $14.00

Description/Usage

8hp

This module is inspired by the VCF in a defunct Korg synth. It is not a clone as the CV Freq controls, Resonance circuit and overdrive sections are all different. I wanted to try this circuit after reading Victor Lazzarini’s article on this filter, as it is quite unusual. It needed a few tweaks to work with Eurorack voltages. I preferred a different VCA circuit for the VC resonance stage and found the overdrive a bit tame so added in a LED to ugly things up a bit.

Make sure Input 1 pot is turned up, it helps a lot.

The Overdrive pot mixes the Low pass and overdrive signal, turned up is full overdrive, back to zero is low pass.

The Lo-cut output cuts out the lower frequencies, not exactly a high pass, good for non-bass drum sounds.
